Trumpeter Swan Restoration

The Wyoming Wetlands Society (WWS) is dedicated to restoring Trumpeter Swan populations throughout their native range.  The Trumpeter Swan Fund was established by WWS to aid in the restoration of Trumpeter Swan populations by supplementing wild populations with swans from our captive breeding program.  In 2011, our program will have grown to at least 12 captive breeding pairs that may produce 60 cygnets or more per year.   In addition to the breeding program, WWS played a major role in the Canadian Egg Collection Project.  Over a three-year period, WWS successfully hatched and raised nearly 150 cygnets from this project alone.  Since 1986, WWS has released over 400 swans raised in captivity in areas of Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.
